First Burn: Soy wax behaves differently than paraffin wax, and the first burn is when you "prime" your candle for future use. When you light your candle for the first time, be sure to burn it long enough so that the melted wax (the "melt pool") meets the edge of the candle jar. Soy wax has a "memory", and it will only melt as far as you let it melt the first time. Also, your first burn may have a smaller flame and less of a scent throw, but this is normal! Remember - your first burn, you are "priming" your candle.
Trimming your wick: Be sure to trim your wick prior to each burn. Ideally, you should trim your wick to 1/4". This will ensure your candle burns clean, long, and safe!
Candle Safety: Always read the warning label on the bottom of your candle prior to lighting! Additionally, you should have received a candle care card with your first candle order. To reiterate ... never leave a candle unattended and always burn on a flat, fire-safe surface. Keep out of reach of children and pets, and out of the way of drafts or anything that can catch on fire.
